![]() Once the data shows up in HomePort, you can drag and drop it to 'My Collections' and it will show up there every time you run HomePort. You can transfer data you created, like wpts/rtes/trks from the device to HomePort permanently. You don't want to use the G2 Vision card always for this. Any SD card you have will work fine for transferring data to/from the device and HomePort. Once that data has been written, HomePort will read maps and transfer wpts/rtes/trks to/from the device.ĭue to map licensing and other reasons, you cannot permanently copy your map data from your device to your computer. You would insert an SD card to the device and let the device write some data to the SD card. I liked using the Navionics SonarCharts with Garmin HomePort Win/Mac software. Bring the Garmin watch within range (3 m) of the chartplotter. My four Chart View choices appear to be Navigation or Fishing or Both or Overview. With my G2 vision card loaded, I go to Homeport - View - Chart Views. I loaded HomePort on my laptop using a Garmin supplied SD card. Since there's now a GPSMap 741 with built-in WiFi mounted at the lower helm and networked via NMEA 2000 with the 7212 on the fly bridge, one of the first things I did when we began our cruise last week was to see what that meant in. I have a few HomePort questions after hacking around with it for several days and trying to follow the HELP operating instructions:ġ.
